Hasta-La-Vista-Baby: Our-Final-Prayers B4 Nuclear-Armageddon=W.W.3 AKA This-Is-The-Way-Our-World-Ends, Not-With-A-Bang-But-A-Whimper; So Wrote Prophet, T.S. Eliot, In-His-Seminal-Masterwork Hollow-Men
And truer words were never spoken, on this, our Latest-Greatest Eve of WW3, so pull up a chair, for the Best Seat in the House to the End of our World. Ever dance with the Devil in the pale moonlight?

Spoiler Alert: Do not read-go-scroll further, herein, unless first seeing the TV-movies Planet of the Apes (1968), Twilight Zone (1959), The Day After (1983), The Terminator Series (1984-2019), V for Vendetta (2005), Cape Fear (1991), as this meditation on death-by-nuclear-fire reveals key moments therein, ruining their stories for some of you.

On this, the Eve of the presumptive (again?!) End-of-the-World, as we know it, we thought it perhaps time we said-our-last-prayers, in the form of a final retrospective.

We grew up, like many-some of you, watching a great deal of American Tell-Lie-Vision (yes, TeeVee)—probably, way too much—time that would have been far and away better spent reading. This led to watching many movies, so we’re quite familiar with much, if not most of, American culture: the good, the bad, and the very ugly.
There is a moment, in the movie Terminator: Salvation (2009), when a resurrected dead man, and ex-con, once on death row, not realizing he’s no longer a man, but a mostly-Cyborg, looks around at a city hellscape, looking as though it’s been carpet-bombed, until there is very little left but burned-out cars and buildings, and very few survivors, then he asks, “What happened here?” The young boy he queries looks about a moment, then simply replies, “Judgment Day happened.”
Since that time, and before, we’ve often wondered, what would have to be the cause or overall situation that would allow things to get to that point, for humanity to commit collective suicide, let alone, in such a manner? And how could full-grown adults be so incredibly stupid? Well—it took us several decades to really figure this one out, but now we know. Now we understand, and share these insights with you, so we can go to our deaths, if it comes to that, knowing the truth, that will, at least on some level, set us free. Unlike those in Gaza-Palestine, etc., many of whom cry out, ‘Oh God, why me?’
Short answer: We gradually discovered, until it was far too late to do anything about it, at this, the 11th Hour, when it is now way past time, that our clown-show world is mostly-run by virtual Zombies, and, above them, mostly-ruled by Vampires, in some cases, more or less literal Vampires. (We'll demonstrate this later on.) That’s right. And then, there’s the rest of us, the 99%, a/k/a We the People, at their mercy. Still relatively helpless, because we didn’t see far earlier, on the importance of building a bottoms-up movement to counter humanity’s incremental march to hell-on-earth in a nuclear-Apocalypse Now.
Imagine having a near-death-experience, your entire life flashing before your eyes, in the half hour or so it takes for nuke-missiles, traveling faster than the speed of sound, to reach you, their intended target. That's what this essay is. A meditation on imminent death-by-nukes.
Duck & Cover?
Largely thanks to secret-society-financiers—funding types like Oppenheimer and his Atomic All-Boys Band—we grew up in, and with, an ever-present fear of nuclear war ending, not only our lives—but everyone and everything with it. What could be worse, it seemed, than utter annihilation, as the endgame. How’s dat for a cheery start at life? Oppenheimer? Yeah, the same mad scientist who once said, regarding his having personally-witnessed the first atomic blast, “We knew the world would not be the same. A few…laughed, a few…cried, most…were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita…Now, I am become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds.” That Oppenheimer, the same that made Albert Einstein want to burn his fingers off for having signed a letter encouraging then POTUS to authorize development of the A-Bomb.
We don’t recall the very first time the notion of death by nuclear-blast-vaporization came to us, or by nuclear-fall-out radiation poisoning, by being just close enough to be bombarded by Gamma Rays? (ala the Incredible Hulk), or, just far enough, to be burned up then blown apart, and away, by nuclear-heat, along with hurricane-speed winds, or starved to death, due to the inevitable post-WW3 nuclear-winter. Quick or slow death? And neither voluntary.
Perhaps it was upon having heard First Officer Spock, of the futuristic United Space Ship Enterprise, in Star Trek episode Assignment: Earth, predict an immediate ‘nuclear holocaust’ being accidentally triggered, automatically, by the unannounced launch of an ICBM, ala intercontinental ballistic missile. As children, we really had to ask, nuclear holocaust? What’s that? Is that even a thing? Oh, such utter rapture, and perfect joy, to discover, yeah, it was! Yes, heavy on the sarcasm.
It even helped explain the following sort of ominous signs we found posted throughout the City.
In the 70’s, we saw those talking-Monkey movies, on TV, never the cinema-theatre. Talk about the Wow! when we realized—Science Fiction stories could become Fact!
As Astronaut Taylor said, in Planet of the Apes (1968), “Damn you…you blew it all up!”
The below Ape-dialogue was most prescriptive of the true meaning of Manifest Destiny in which Europeans wiped out the Native American ‘Indians,’ then prophetic of, most presently, the Native ‘Palestinians’ being wiped out by the American Empire War Machine, etc..
"Beware the Beast, Man, for he is the Devil's Pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport, or lust, or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home, and yours. Shun him; drive him back into his jungle-lair, for he is the harbinger of death." – Scientist Cornelius quoting The Lawgiver, in Planet of the Apes (1968)
In the 70’s, in syndication re-runs, there was Time Enough At Last! – Twilight Zone (1959), a key episode from a cult-hit black-and-white-filmed TV series—we didn’t make a point of watching every episode, but did, somehow, wind up seeing some of the most classic, timeless ones, such as that. We’ll never forget that landscape, stretching, far as the eye could see. The one following a nuclear blast leaving an American city looking like Hiroshima-Nagasaki, after being Big-Boy-bomb decimated.
In the 80’s, we recall Father saying, if he were God, he’d drop Atomic Bombs all over humanity to end all the sin and suffering we had caused one another. We took this to mean only that he was not entirely happy. And this, from a man who had also said “there is always something interesting in the New York Times,” a newspaper he bought daily. On another occasion, he suggested, if we somehow knew that nukes were flying, and on their way, it was time to “Say your last prayer,” as necessary and appropriate, presumably to have some effect on the ultimate fate, if not hopefully positive destiny-direction, of our immortal soul, if there was such a thing. Also, regarding his pillow, “let me rest my head here, where I may hopefully find it, in the morning.” The good old days, or were they?
Mother’s observation was only that all war was evil, and both sides crazy, to make it so.
A is for Atom, B is for Bomb
In the 80’s, we also clearly recall seeing a Sister run out of the living room, after letting out a small yelp of pain, while watching made-for-TV-movie The Day After (1983), just as the sh*tizens were being incinerated, by nuclear war. This surprised us, to see her literally run out of that TV room, unwilling to see the movie’s ending, but just try to imagine having a young mind while seeing the below images, for the first time, then suddenly realizing such horror was now imminent thanks to the Vampires and Zombies ruling and running most of our so-called civilized world. This was her first real glimpse at just what was in store for us, if the crazies Beatles’ John Lennon said, were running our world, would have their way, given their apparent penchant for democides.
In the 80’s, the Terminator movies started coming out, whose creator-writer admitted, in the eventually-issued behind-the-scenes featurettes, on DVD, he too, like us, grew up with fears of an imminent nuclear war due to the arms race, which he dramatized.
Was Nuclear Armageddon (i.e. as-in our Last-Final-Ultimate Battle) inevitable? Maybe so, but one thing was for sure, all past-prior events would either lead up to the same, or prevent it, and each one of us would either be a causitive or preventative agent.
This next classic movie said it best, as to the interconnectedness of all things, good or evil.
I had to see it. There wasn't much left. But when I was there, it was strange—I suddenly had this feeling that everything was connected. It was like, I could see the whole thing—one long chain of events, that stretched all the way back, to before Larkhill. I felt, like I could see, everything that had happened, and everything that was going to happen—It was like a perfect pattern, laid out, in front of me, and I realized, that we were all part of it, and all trapped by it. — Inspector Finch, V for Vendetta (2005)
What part would we play? What part have you—thus far? Is it too late to fight the future, even now?
Extreme Accountability
In sum, THEY-THEM-THOSE behind the end of our tragic World, have long coveted, sought after, schemed and planned for, among many other things, the taking and full domination of what is called EurAsia, in the novel 1984. What we used to call the USSR, now Russia. Why? Covering 11% of the Earth's total landmass, it contains much of the world's largest resources, spanning many full time zones. The Great Game, as some have called it, means conquering that final part of the global chessboard. “Death to Zeons!”
So, everything is now linked together. The banal, the sacred, and the profane.
West vs. East = Neo-Liberal “Elites” versus Old-World Conservatives
“N.A.T.O.” (aka “Israel”+”US”+”UK” et al.) versus “Russia” + “China”
As in 1984, Oceania (West) versus EurAsia (Russia) + EastAsia (China)
Depraved-Deranged-Sodomites versus Relatively-Normal People
We’d all better hope and pray that: 1) “Putin” is-in-on-it, as some form of [controlled-opposition], [following-a-script], [as-a-puppet], being directed to do all manner of things short of actual nuclear exchange of ICBMs, which would spare our collective arses, and thereby lives; and or, 2) someone doesn’t go rogue, setting of nukes, flying, due to miscalculation, miscommunication or technical malfunction in the fog of war; and or, 3) all of life is just a mostly-bad dream, so, when we “die,” that really only means finally waking up to the Real-World, which is, hopefully, a much better situation than this one…
Man’s Inhumanity to Man
Final elements fell into place seeing The Bat-Man movies, wherein this key, critical line says it all:
Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn. - Alfred, The Dark Knight (2008)
Others are not satisfied with physical freedom or chaos; they demand peace, and justice, but only on their terms:
Counselor, I believe you’re well within the limits of that restraining order!…I’m bound for the Promised Land, I am…I’m bound for the Promised Land! – Cape Fear (1991)
So, rest your silly, sleepy head, on that pillow, now, so that you may still find it there in the morning, if those nukes haven't launched-taken off, at least, not yet, in the interim.
Stay tuned-return. Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel, as we revise this page. Wait for it.
